Waste Not Hub

A hub is where it all comes together, a one stop shop under a roof. The Rethinking Waste Collective is working towards developing both an online resource and a monthly event to help you manage your materials and waste with up to date and local information. Both are called the Waste Not Hub.

The monthly event is a space to learn, share, swap and save. An the online waste not hub is a resource for you to connect to apps, initiatives, locations and businesses who are there to help us all on our journey, as we waste not want not.

Waste Not Hub (f2f)

Each second Saturday of the month, our local community gathers to explore ways we can reduce waste both individually and collectively. While some activities are held every month, we also offer special events like talks and workshops. Our current focus is on addressing specific waste streams that pose significant challenges: textiles, food, and polystyrene.

On every month 10 – 12pm at Dwell, 78 St Leonards Ascot Vale

Monthly activities include clothes swap, mending circle, gardening circle (including food swap), material collection and MVS chat cafe.

Waste Not Hub (online)

You’ve seen it somewhere but can’t remember where. We all see tips and information shared on social media but then go on to forget the details of what we have seen.  In response to volunteers and followers requests we’ve started to put our collective knowledge in one place – the online waste not hub.  Here you can find out all manner of apps, places, businesses and initiatives that will help  you reuse, repair, recycle, and much more.

So explore your locally recommended options based on the principles of the waste hierarchy and the circular economy via the button below.
